Patrick Bryson

I am primarily a painter and I endeavour to make original artworks. My work is a process of inquiry into the visual world as presented to my senses and imagination. I experiment as freely as I can in order to escape the fixed mind that categorises everything and seems incapable of wonder. My working method is a kind of exploration and excavation, using whatever is at hand until I find a suitable fusion of poetic imagery and story which I come upon out of an infinite array of possibilities.

I have spent my life quietly contemplating the wonder of seeing, the panorama of mind, travel, world, imagination, light, thought, story and memory. And now I use this experience on a never ending journey of discovery.

I think that vision can only be celebrated and explored, never contained or fully defined by reason. Rather it is an endless stream; a kaleidoscope without beginning or end.
