About the Artist

Lea Williams

United Kingdom

Accomplished textile artist returned to canvas, I've spent the last 18 years exploring texture and colour through textile mediums, and have at last come back to painting with a huge flow of energy!
I have two main inspirations, light and flow, and urban city style.
All of my pieces are hugely driven by music and sound and movement, the sounds I'm listening to greatly inspire the flow of my brush, tool, or pen movements.
I create depth to my work through many layers and techniques of rubbing back and layered brushstrokes.
I am hugely inspired by Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jasper Johns
I usually mix my mediums, using mainly acrylics, spray paint, household, markers.
I paint on canvases and reclaimed wood.
