I am drawn to the quiet space where sky meets land—where stillness holds both presence and possibility. Through abstract, mixed media work, I explore the horizon as more than a line in the distance; it becomes a place of pause, transition, and subtle transformation.
The Arabic phrase “بين السماء والأرض” (Bayna as-samā’ wa al-’arḍ) “ between the sky and the earth”—guides my Horizon series. It reflects an in-between space shaped by uncertainty and hope. In my work, the horizon softens and expands, allowing land, water, and the sky to dissolve into one another, inviting contemplation rather than definition. My Colorful Horizons series celebrates the power of color to connect and transform. Layered geometric lines create movement and depth, guiding the eye across vibrant fields of color. These works evoke joy, wonder, and the endless possibilities that exist along the horizon.
My process is both intuitive and intentional. I work with restrained palettes and layered textures, building and reducing until each piece settles into balance. Layers are revealed and concealed over time, echoing the way memory and emotion surface. Negative space is essential—it allows the work to breathe and creates a sense of quiet presence.
