[Afro-European, born Portuguese in Mozambique in 1974]


I've started constructing knowledge and revealing curiosity about the nature of photography as a medium in my initial academic studies on Topography course, which conferred me the opportunity to study image capturing, spatial and aerial photography or imaging, optics, and the phenomenology of light, developing knowledge that leads me to produce images, mainly digital, and build a corpus of work.

As said about me, "She often gets her gaze as an embodiment of the camera, and she places her action in a present tense, a shutter tense that willingly divorces objects and events from their own history, challenging all fixed meanings.
She inhabits the territories occupied by the fields of photography, video, and installation."

My initial studies were on Topographic Engineering, followed by an I.P.F. Photography Course in Oporto and a Post-graduation in Art & Education, when I decided to deepen my knowledge about the image as a vehicle of communication by means of the analysis of the languages of cinema, photography, and by the study of visual anthropology.

I've fastened in Art and Critical Thinking seminars at Maumaus Visual Art School in Lisbon and done particular Art practical approach to Screen Printing and Laboratory Photography techniques directly with other artists and art platforms.
