Willa Taylor is a visual artist from York, South Carolina whose work grows out of a long line of women and men who sewed, carved, and built with care. Their steadiness, storytelling, and spiritual grounding shaped her earliest understanding of craft, and she carries those sensibilities into her hand‑drawn digital illustrations. Her practice is guided by embodied intuition—breath, heart, and emotional clarity shaping the symbolic and architectural forms that emerge in her images.
A self‑taught artist, Taylor has developed her practice through steady study of color, light, composition, and layered digital painting. Though she works in a contemporary medium, her approach reflects traditional craft values: patience, repetition, refinement, and a deep respect for process. She sees her work as an extension of her family’s creative lineage, translated into a new visual language.
