Johanne Kourie

As a artist, I perfected myself through the use of various techniques
and mediums in visual arts. Oil and acrylic are my two favorite mediums. Constantly looking for
news inspirations, I travel, accompanied by my camera seizing seaside, landscapes of all kinds,
animals and different objects that could seem trivial at first glance. From these thousands of
photos, the favorites that will ignite a spark in me. Having been imbued with the atmosphere and
atmosphere that prevailed when the picture was taken, I give again live the moment in my own
way by following my inspiration. My brushes carry people at first glance stop them for a moment
so they can profit of the present moment.
Because for me;
"Each painting has its story and each story has its painting"
Warm and vivid Colors, joie de vivre, light and movement describe my works imbued with a
touch of realism and a contemporary touch. A walk in my world where reality and imagination
intersect, The perfect place to get away from it all for a while. Through my works many

Johanne Kourie is a professional painter from Montreal.
She has experimented with several mediums over the past few years, such as ink, charcoal, pastel, oil and acrylic.
The chemistry of colors fascinates her, she studies them, tests them until she obtains the perfect mixture for each of her works.
Nature, mainly the sky and the clouds, are a constant source of wonder, rejuvenation and inspiration.
It is particularly found in the impressionist style.
Kourie's works have been exhibited in various places in Canada, notably at the Musée de Charlevoix, the Musée de Vaudreuil, at the Carrefour Culturel Paul- Médéric, Baie-St-Paul as well as in several cultural centers and galleries across Quebec.
On the international scene, her work has been presented in New York, New Jersey, Paris, Venice, Milan, Normandy, Qatar. His works can be found in several public and private publications and collections.
