I was born in New England and grew up in the Midwest. My mother was a painter and my father, an amateur photographer, so I was encouraged to be creative.
I attended art school in New England where I majored in sculpture and photography. I studied there with the well known fine art photographers Sandy Skoglund and Jan Groover. After graduation, I moved to New York City and built a successful career as a commercial photographer and retoucher.
After the 2016 US election, I felt compelled to create fine art photographs that celebrate our beautiful and fascinating diversity. I admire the photographs created by Robert Mapplethorpe and Paul Mpagi Sepuya. Their blending of the different races, along with unique, harmonic compositions inspires me very much.
I hope that by looking at my pictures, people are moved and inspired by how beautiful our diversity can be.
All prints are made on the Epson 900 printer using archival Ultrachrome HD pigments. The paper is acid free fine art paper. Each print is signed, numbered and dated right below the image on the front.
