I am the daughter of a Macanese mother and English father and live in Camberwell, London not far from where The Happy Sunbird begins: my debut novel . . .

I managed to get a first-class honours degree in Fine Art at the Faculty of Art & Design in Wolverhampton and went on to complete a postgraduate printmaking course (etching, lithograph, relief printing) at the Slade School of Art, London
