Andrea Hughes

Andrea was born and raised in London. From her early years she loved creating imagery, either through writing or painting and both of these have remained a constant in her life.

Andrea has always been drawn. to the earthy and vibrant colours of nature, many of her paintings have been inspired by the transient performance of the skies and how it bathes the surrounding landscape in a tapestry of light and colours.

After graduating from both Winchester School of Art and a postgraduate design course at Sadlers Wells Theatre. She then moved on to work on commissions for murals and tapestries before becoming an in-house artist for heals art gallery where she sold to international clientele.

Andrea has mainly worked on a commission basis but is now releasing a collection of landscapes and seascapes. For her, a painting should have an emotional element embedded within the image and composition. Almost like an extra gift that transports the viewer beyond the visual.

After graduating from Winchester School of Art, Andrea was accepted at Sadlers Wells Theatre for a design course where she continued to pursue her passion for harmonised imagery and atmospheric composition.
