Creating an abstract landscape on the paper is much like telling a story through the steep cliffs and babbling brooks. The tale of majestic mountains and friendly slopes are told by dry pigments moved over the paper with my hands. Slowly the paper are filled with recognisable shapes and places remem...

My work explores how landscapes shape identity, belonging, and emotional resonance. Rooted in personal experience and memory, my pastel paintings emerge from the shifting space between what is seen and what is felt — between inner and outer landscapes. Some works appear recognisably grounded in nature, while others dissolve into abstraction; together they form one continuous body of work, where boundaries between representation and intuition begin to blur. At the heart of my practice lies a belief that landscape can hold reflection, that it can mirror something timeless and human. I am drawn to the quiet, unspoiled forms of nature — rock, hill, shoreline — ancient structures shaped by deep time and untouched by the immediacy of human presence. These motifs serve as anchors, connecting the fleeting moment to something enduring. Colour is central to how I think and feel through my work. I approach it as both language and atmosphere — a way of translating emotion, memory, and light. My palettes often move toward the ethereal and dreamlike, evoking a sense of stillness, or the lingering trace of a place once known. While many of my works are rooted in landscape, others are entirely abstract — intuitive explorations of colour, rhythm, and mark-making. These pieces arise from sensory experience: the echo of sound, the scent of air, or the emotional residue of a fleeting encounter. They carry the same sensibility as my landscapes — the same search for openness, for a space where emotion and form can coexist freely. Across both the figurative and the abstract, my practice is unified by a desire to create spaces of quiet attention. Each work is an attempt to hold presence — to invite stillness, reflection, and the subtle meeting between the external world and the inner one.
