Marie Francoise Serra

A few years ago, during a visit to a major civil engineering project, I discovered the plastic beauty of construction sites. Since then, I regularly frequent these places which are for me inexhaustible sources of forms that nourish my pictorial language. I love this world in the making, both simple and complex, inhabited by rhythms and scholarly balances.
The construction site itself is only a starting point for the process of abstraction that I lead on my canvas, in a joyous and demanding search, playing with shapes, material, colors, plans, lines.
