Stephanie Assoun

I am a French painter, and my painting studio is based in Paris.

My background has been shaped through an international curriculum: the Beaux-Arts de Paris, the Académie Julian, the School of Theater and Trompe-l’Œil Décor in Geneva, complemented by further training in Italy.

I have developed a pictorial language in which color is central and form is reduced to its essence.
I explore the relationships between colors through shapes inspired by nature — trees, plains, flowers in fields, butterflies, flowers in vases — but deliberately pared down and suggestive.


They do not seek to be represented, but rather evoked through a free and spontaneous gesture.
Each painting becomes a poetic and emotional dialogue, a subtle interplay of nuances, resonances, and contrasts.

The composition arises from an energetic rhythm, at once structuring and fluid. I alternate between textures and transparencies, seeking a sensitive balance between intensity and lightness.

Although I experiment with different formats, I favor large-scale works developed in series, which open up a broader vision — such as the Plains series or the Cypress series.
Their scale invites the viewer to wander freely and to experience immersion.
