David Kaneen

Born 1963 in Melbourne, Australia, my interest in creativity developed from a very young age, growing up in the times of the late 60’s and into the 1970’s.
A passion for art increased all throughout my later schooling in various ways.
I completed four years at Monash University, Melbourne in Art & Design where I developed my skills in design, illustration, photography and film making.
On completion of my studies, I began working in the printing and publishing industry while also developing skills in oil painting at every opportunity.
Between work and painting, I travelled to Europe and the UK where my mind was opened up to the splenders of the art world of which I had studied.
From 1990 I began a career in advertising as a Studio Artist until the year 2000. In that same year, moved to Athens, Greece with my wife and young children where
I was employed with a well known advertising firm in Athens, working until mid 2015 as a Senior Art Director and Creative Photo Retoucher.
Having worked for so many years in Greece and bringing up a young family at the same time, this left a gap of some time in my work as a painter.
