Natasja Ahout

Natasja (1958) lives and works in Breda.

The most striking things in my work are my use of color and my themes. I can completely lose myself in a color and in a theme, I then paint paintings / objects with a main color (blue, pink, black) and a main theme (Arab women, self-portraits, birds). And then, to my own surprise, slowly my colors and subject change. This never happens abruptly, never planned, but gradually. Suddenly I notice that something has changed, not my style or way of thinking, but my image, which is what I want to communicate more or less unconsciously with paint.
