Ulla Plougmand

I am a Danish-born artist/painter living and working in London England.
My colourful and often soulful paintings over the years can be found in a number of collections worldwide, public as well as private. Do have a look at some of my Collections listed under Saatchiart Collections. Several works have won prizes.
I create colourful, often philosophically inspired, paintings mainly on canvas - a result of having lived a colourful life. Every one of my canvases is unique, the subject - whether real or imagined - conceived and executed entirely based on the quirky and mostly sunny way my mind works. In other words, I rely almost entirely on my ‘mind’s eye’..

I was born, I joke, with a paintbrush in my hand.
I have been fortunate enough to be able to pursue my passion for painting for many years and hope sincerely I can do so till, as I put it, ‘I fall out of my little red Danish clogs’ - inshallah.
And every day is a new adventure!

Degree in Danish literature, Aalborg Denmark
Studied Latin - with special emphasis on medicine, Copenhagen Denmark
Studied Croquis (life drawing, nudes), later painting - with cascades of colours - straight from the heart. I am largely autodidact.
My female forms are mainly inspired by my years as a model.
Strong influence and guidance by my mentor, The Painter Anthony Eyton RA. London England.
