Alejandro Chávez is a Venezuelan artist based in Brookline, Massachusetts. Growing up in Caracas, Venezuela, he was immersed in the country’s brilliant sunlight and vivid color palette. After moving to the U.S. in 2000, he became fascinated by the way light shifts with the seasons, a theme that now defines his artistic practice. His work explores the interplay of luminosity and geometry through compositions that deconstruct landscapes into faceted planes of color.
Chávez’s art captures the essence of changing environments through precise layering of color and form. By breaking down natural scenes into angular structures, he examines how light transforms perception and evokes emotion. His approach allows him to manipulate color interactions with precision, creating vibrant, immersive compositions that balance structure with a sense of movement.
“My work is a study of light and its ability to reshape color and form. Through geometric abstraction, I seek to capture the shifting energy of landscapes, using a meticulous process to explore the intersection of technology and nature.”
