Sebastian Szabo

Based in Slovakia, I am a visual artist with over two decades of creative practice. My background in art theory provides a deep intellectual foundation for my work, yet as a painter, I am primarily self-taught, allowing me to maintain an authentic and intuitive approach to the canvas.

My portfolio spans from expressive portraits and landscapes to experiments in abstract forms, including drip painting and geometric abstraction. My philosophy is rooted in the dialogue between the human and the transcendent—the interplay between the material and the spiritual. In my nature-themed works, I explore the contrast between human fragility and the majestic timelessness of the natural world, offering the viewer a sanctuary for contemplation.

My artistic vision is shaped by the Impressionist masters—Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Monet—who captured the flowing essence of life, as well as the abstract pioneers like Pollock and Kandinsky. Furthermore, the influence of Andy Warhol’s Pop Art has significantly informed my perception of modern art and my own creative evolution. Ultimately, my work is an invitation to pause and reflect on the spiritual dimensions that surpass our daily existence.
