My first rule in Art is there are no rules. My work often goes through a series of "viewing sessions." It needs to resonate with me on some level. I then decide whether it's complete or painted over/destroyed. I purposefully leave some things unfinished to retain a sense of play. I strive for what I call a" naive sensibility" putting chance into play. Also commonly known as "happy accidents."
I am a minimalist and try to keep things personal and or intimate, therefore I often paint my husband, animals and nature. Lately I have become somewhat obsessed with Abstract Expressionism.
