Valda Batraks

Latvian-born, I grew up in a family where art met science—my father an art teacher and my mother a math and physics teacher—so I was naturally drawn to exploring both structure and imagination through creative expression.
My early years helping my father restore church altar paintings gave me a deep respect for detail, texture, and the harmony of forms found in nature—roots that continue to shape my work today.
Living in Arabia has added a new dimension to my art—through color, culture, and a generous spirit I’ve come to admire. My work blends abstract form and emotional depth across painting, printmaking, and design.
