I was born in Devonport, New Zealand and grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. Now we live in Santa Ana, Costa Rica with my wife, Artist Natalia Wallwork. My influences are from Ancient and Tribal Art, particularly Mayan Art but I'm also influenced by the great Surrealist artist, Salvador Dali. The underlying concept of my art though is the importance of our connection with the natural world, therefore a lot of my subject matter are the Birds, Animals and Fish of our planet. I sign my artworks 'Hilton', my middle name after my great grandmother, Hanna Hilton.
I am in reality a self taught artist although part of my schooling was from the subject of art. There is the added benefit of living with another artist.
I have a degree in Physical Education (Exercise Physiology) and have been an International Sports Scientist...which has also had an influence in my art.
In Art Gallery 'La Galleria", Tamarindo, Costa Rica, a collective exhibition in Atenas, Costa Rica with seven other a International artists and two exhibitions in Panama
