ABOUT

EXHIBITIONS

Born in Nagoya, Japan - grew up in the US and Japan.
Graduated Musashino Art University, Tokyo - BA (Hons) in Visual Design and Oil Painting.

While still at University, I started working in the TV industry in Art and Set design; and also appeared regularly on-camera as a singing KAMISHIBAI picture-storyteller for Channel 5 TV.
In 1992, I started working as a freelance artist and illustrator.

In between drawing for various magazines, advertisements, CD covers and commissioned work,
I paint and draw to add to my collections for exhibitions.

My main theme is 'Everyday Life' which I like to express in many different styles.
I like to draw modern day versions of UKIYO-E (paintings of ordinary people and life in the EDO period).
As I'm currently based in Japan, most of my work is 'Everyday Life of Japanese People'

I want to capture moments and scenes of people enjoying themselves;
Art that shows the Life and Vitality of People and Nature!
I also love tropical islands such as OKINAWA, so I often paint these too.

Musashino Art University, Tokyo - BA (Hons) in Visual Design and Oil Painting.
