Jordan Balkansky

I am originally from Sofia Bulgaria. In 1987, I immigrated to Italy and was granted political asylum in the US in 1990. I became a US citizen in1995. Currently, I live in the town of Sebago, Maine and I have worked there ever since as freelance artist.

After receiving a degree in civil engineering, I graduated from a vocational school of ceramics as a ceramic decorator in Sofia, Bulgaria.

I have not exhibited my artwork in Bulgaria due to the requirements of the artistic union that was sponsored and ruled by the communist party in Bulgaria, which I chose not to be part of.
