Being able to visualise my artistic ideas and to progress in my technical capabilities has always been a major factor when creating work. I have always been keen in having a deeper understanding as to how the formal elements and principles of art can be utilised when translating an abstract idea into an aesthetically pleasing tangible form.
Painting has been driving my artistic practice by allowing me to depict the world entirely through the use of varied colour and distinct shape. With an emphasis on ‘the landscape’ I am able to delve into how an image has been constructed in its visual sense.
