Luis Bojórquez
(Yucatán, México. 1983)
His work specializes in painting, printmaking and drawing. He uses this tecnics to make commentary about specific moments in Mexican history, like cultural hibridation and Mexican identity, he uses popular icons that emerge from revising popular and private archives.
He currently works in the interdisciplinary program “More art, less violence” where he implements creative dynamics to help middle school children express their concerns about issues of violence, addictions and sexual education
Holds a Degree in Visual Arts at the Escuela Superior de Artes Visuales de Yucatan (ESAY).
In June of this year he was part of the show "Peninsula II, creators in Yucatan" in "La Cupula" Gallery.
In 2016 was selected for “Contemporal” in “El Olimpo” in Merida, Mexico.
In 2015 he had a solo show in Noox Gallery titled “Hibridos”.
In 2014 he was part of an exhibition of emerging artists at the MACAY Museum (Mexico) and selected for the National Visual Arts Biennale of Yucatan.
In 2013 Bojorquez had two solo shows, “Archaeologies” and “The day of my death”.
From 2008 to 2010 he directed the 451 Gallery focused in emerging artists.
