I am a mixed media and digital artist from Gqeberha, South Africa. I combine analogue material digitally. My art is the outcome of a merging of techniques learnt firstly in the photographic darkroom, later in the study of drawing and painting, and in digital processes. Most of my images begin with photographs which evolve as I experiment with the photographic surface. I use oils, acrylics, watercolour and inks to build tactile surfaces that are photographed and combined digitally. My intention is to communicate impressions of the places and spaces I encounter. The final image is a result of a process aimed at expressing the impact of a particular time and place. My work can be found in private collections. The William Humphreys National Art Gallery has acquired four of my pieces.
