Natascha Vanniekerk

Natascha van Niekerk is a Fine Art Photographer currently living and working from The Crags, Plettenberg Bay, in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Natascha’s body of work contains a collection of Botanical images and Conceptual Portraits. It is in her portrait work that she often incorporates a strong narrative element, creating characters that are ethereal and dreamy, yet placed in seemingly ordinary landscapes. She is greatly inspired by natural elements and uses a restricted color palette in her images, therefore making her characters become part of their environments.

She obtained her B-Tech degree in Photography from the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa in 2004.

Her work has been part of numerous group exhibitions including a traveling exhibition to Buddhapest in 2004, Moreleta Arts Festival, Pretoria in 2006 and 2007 and the Woman’s Group Exhibition at the Secret Gallery, Pretoria in 2007. She has also been featured in Visual Arts magazines, Savvy Design Mag, Renegade Visions, Golden Age Magazine and Ezra Magazine. During 2014 her work has been part of group shows in ‘I love my laundry’, ‘The Bello Studio’ and ‘The Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel’ in Cape Town.
In 2018 she had an exhibition of recent works at 'The Bello Studio' in Cape Town with fellow photographer Margherita Introna.
