Pamela Perl

A self-taught emerging artist working in oil, acrylic, gouache and ink. My work is mainly illustrative, always figurative and could be considered outsider or naïve art. At the heart of my work is storytelling, which usually informs the compositions I create. Fluid lines, contours, shadows and expressions are key elements while themes range from a sense of hope to dreaming of what's possible; the power of self belief; championing the underdog; celebrating and reimagining the world we live in. I’m fascinated and inspired by human and animal behaviour, biology, history, space, the natural world and design.

Born in California and raised across several US states including Hawaii, I moved to London to study and eventually settled. Before returning to art a few years ago, I worked in the UK's creative industries, but my love of the thoroughbred drew me away and I now work promoting British horseracing.
