The name “Q” originates from the nickname by which my father called me: “Susie Q.” He was the one who taught me to paint.
I like to do images that are a little different. Unique. The result is the work you see today. Nature is of great interest - the intensity of color and uniqueness of pattern are beyond what the human mind could imagine. Whether I see a vibrant sunset with wild clouds or a creature whose coloring seems to glow in the light, I immediately pick up my camera or imagine how to paint it.
Painting or photographing images from nature provides a plethora of emotion - perfection and imperfection, order and chaos. The work comes through, not from me - the Universe speaking its mind through one of its own creations. Hopefully you’ll hear the voice and see the sights of the Universe, too, through this work.
Self taught with lots of input from my father.
