Rebecca Ryan

Rebecca Ryan was born on May 10th 1964.

Her childhood experiences growing up in rural Alberta, Canada, on a large working farm have shaped her life and her art. “There was no time to stop and see as a child.” Rebecca‘s artistic journey did not come around until after making a career change, slowing things down.

An avid gardener with a deep love for the small quiet things in nature brought about a passion for macro photography. “I take the time to watch a flower grow, watch a bug make his way across a leaf, wait for the humming birds, that return every year, to sip their nectar.” “What is called “a weed” is quite magical to watch evolve…..” “I never tired of watching my Robins, Rufous Humming Birds and Woodpeckers coming back to the garden in British Columbia in the spring.” During the winter Rebecca spends time in Southern Florida. “I am inspired everyday by the flowers and birds.”

Over the past year Rebecca has returned to to her birth place Edmonton, Alberta and has started working in acrylic paint. “It’s nice to be back. The summer skies and gardens are wonderful inspiration. I have a lovely space to explore painting.”
