Serge Le Man

Born in Kharkiv (Ukraine) in 1970. Since childhood, he has been engaged in ballroom dancing. Former dancer, choreographer, artistic director of a modeling agency. In recent years, he has worked as a graphic designer.
After the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2022, when two air bombs damaged my house in Kharkiv, I moved to Lviv, where I took up photography. At first, it was a passion for street photography. In 3 years in Lviv, I took thousands of street photos, which can be seen on my Instagram page sergeleman. My best street photos were included in the photo book "Lviv Portraits 2022-24", which I released in 24. Since 2023, I bought two film cameras: Minolta X300 and Mamiya 23 Standard and took up analog photography. Photographers who inspired me: Bill Brandt, Daidō Moriyama, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau, Ferdinando Scianna, Vivian Maier and others. As a child, I often helped my father print photos in the darkroom. He was a photographer, worked in a photo studio, and we had our own darkroom at home. I have equipped my own photo lab and print my analog prints in a darkroom on a photo enlarger in the classic way.
