Julia Maria Zych (b. 2002) is a Polish contemporary abstract and surrealist painter working internationally.
Her paintings explore the human body not as an image, but as a trace, a pressure of color, gesture, and material. Working primarily in large-scale formats, Julia Maria Zych creates mixed-media paintings using self-prepared pigments alongside industrial materials such as primers, varnishes, and wooden supports.
Through visceral color and layered textures, fragments of the body emerge and dissolve across the surface, resisting clear definition. Situated between abstraction and surrealism, Julia Maria Zych’s work inhabits the space between presence and disappearance, where the body is felt rather than fully seen.
