Art has always been a part of me. From the time I could hold a crayon I've been drawing. Now that I'm of a certain age, I have found that abstract art is something that attracts me. At its best it's emotion on canvas. Without the familiar guides of identifiable objects, what the viewer feels is pure emotion, pure reaction to the art. I strive to give each piece life and movement, color and a sense of joy. If a piece makes its owner happy then it is a success.

As far as art goes, I'm self taught. I tried taking art classes but just wound up arguing with my instructors. I figured if I was going to do it my way anyway, it was cheaper to just go off and do it.
When I first wanted to create abstract art I searched for a technique that I could work with and develop a style that is mine. When I finally discovered pouring I was hooked. But getting good results means having intimate knowledge of and a strong command of your medium. That comes only with persistence, experimentation, hard work and time. I sat down with a text on fluid dynamics and with what I learned I began to experiment. It took quite some time, but what you see is what I finally consider to be presentable. There are any number of earlier works that wound up in the trash.
