Säme S

Säme was born in Brittany in 1976. After earning a baccalaureate in Fine Arts (A3 option) and completing three years at the Académie Julian / Met de Penninghen in Paris, she graduated from the Institut Supérieur d’Arts Appliqués in Rennes in 2000, and later obtained the National Diploma in Arts and Design (DN MADE), specializing in graphic design.
For over twenty years, she has worked as an art director and graphic designer, both in agencies and as a freelancer. Trained in the principles of modern graphic design, Säme has been deeply influenced by the Bauhaus movement and the Swiss school of minimalism. These influences rooted in formal rigor, compositional balance, and the expressive power of geometric forms now nourish her pictorial work.
Now based in the Paris region, Säme devotes herself entirely to her passion: abstract painting, and more specifically abstract expressionism. Influenced by major figures such as Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman, she explores in her work the tensions between emotion and formal structure.
