• FROM DESIGN TO PAINTING Guillaume Rist is a french painter living near Paris. Inspired by his professional experience as a designer, Guillaume Rist seeks to represent subjects by giving them a new shape, a new skin. It is a game with form. Metamorphose the form while keeping its essence, its nature, or its function. This allows it to approach the subject with a fresh look. Starting from one form to move away from it and give it another reality. His painting is influenced by Pop Art painters, both by bright color palettes and the graphic approach. It is in a narrative artistic trend. Its subjects are painted in silent, enigmatic atmospheres that remain very lively and stimulating for the imaginary. We also find the theme of landscape and still lifes where a dream world mixes with the real world. It is first a formal search that begins with the drawing: define the contours, the full and voids and find lines of force, choose a color palette.
