Fabio Monteleone is an Italian artist active since the late 1980s. His creative journey began with a passion for photography and gradually evolved into painting, incorporating mixed techniques and unconventional materials. After opening his first art studio in 1998 and attending the “Lorenzo Lotto” Academy in Bergamo, Monteleone developed a distinctive and ever-evolving artistic language where matter and concept converge. His work explores existential themes such as the possibilities of life, free will, and the marks left by every choice we make. This vision is embodied in his series “Chessboards”, where the square—a symbol of order and physicality—becomes a metaphor for the universe and the countless paths of human experience. His works, crafted with mixed media on three-dimensional supports, integrate materials such as steel, metal mesh, ropes, enamel, and even bullets, offering a profound reflection on memory, identity, and destiny. Each piece is a unique universe: the squares symbolize opportunities, the bullets represent choices, and the burn marks signify lived experiences. Through this visual narrative, Monteleone turns every artwork into a personal portrait, mirroring the complexity and beauty of the human condition. Over the years, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including: Art3f (Lyon, Paris, Zurich) Art Shopping – Carrousel du Louvre, Paris BAF – Bergamo Arte Fiera Parcours d’artistes – Brussels Solo and group shows in Italian galleries, historical castles, and cultural centers He currently lives and works in Bergamo, Italy, continuing his exhibition activity with projects that combine aesthetics, philosophical reflection, and material experimentation.
