Born in 1986 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Lives in Brooklyn, New York.

In my work, I evoke the unconscious, mixed with observations from everyday life through paintings and site-specific animations. Humor, music, frustrations mixed with pleasure, sarcasm, the innocent eye of a kid combined with an adult perception, are what I find interesting in life, and consequently what I bring to my work. I paint everything that comes through my mind in a loose process, making images that are both figurative and abstract. I deal with metaphors in much of my work.

In my painting, I use oil paint, charcoal, oil pastel, dry pastel and palette knife. The color palette is very intuitive and somehow is influenced by Brazilian modernist painters. I see my paintings as moving images, not steady landscapes or portraits. Formally, when they are not single figures floating, like single thoughts navigating in our minds, they most of the time reference collage, with fragments of different moments.
