Chris Zarb

Chris Zarb (1973) was born and lives in Malta and is a self-taught artist.
Since an early age Chris was producing works which stimulated the imagination and unconscious mind. With no direct influences, his woks are pure creations of his own personal vision. Chris uses a very limited selection of colours for each painting to express his particular vision. Mostly dark and strong colours are used to create the dramatic and occasionally gothic feel around his subjects.

With his works, Chris Zarb takes us on a journey into the dark and unexplored recesses of the soul. His paintings dwell on the expressions of the human figure and the world of illusion and imagination which knows no bounds. He adds a touch of melancholy, imbuing life into his works with his array of natural colours. Different emotions and paradoxical situations are incorporate in his works, where happiness and sadness can be felt in equal measures.

Chris Zarb has exhibited his works in four solo exhibitions and in various collective exhibitions.
