I am a lover of people, especially children, and of life! My style of art is expressed from the core of who I am- and that is to see peoples and atmospheres healed and restored to their full potentials- I can only say that to heal someone or something you must get into their skin, get on the inside to manifest the worth and value hidden within- so in saying this, my art comes from getting on the inside of something or someones and patiently, but persistently, pushing through so that the expression of its underlying hope emerges with promise, identity, purpose, and destiny onto the canvas. I am largely a self-taught artist beginning in my childhood, and entering the professional world of art in 2015. My preferred medium is acrylics, though mixing mediums happens at times, and is expressed through abstract figurative with a shimmer of childlike spirit. I won't settle until each piece of artwork finds its inner voice. My pursuit is to bring about an awakening through my art and its message- I paint with a desire that each piece holds its own weight in gold. Though I am a largely self-taught artist, there have been individuals and times of learning that I have genuinely gleaned from throughout my life. I come from a long line of artists on my fathers side, and I do believe it is a DNA gift- however, as a child I had seasons with both my father and aunts bringing me into their times of art and creativity and taught me unique ways of "seeing" when it came to capturing a story and putting it on canvas or sculpture, etc. I have also enjoyed much reading, and developing different techniques through artists over the centuries- I believe I've captured a rhythm and a perspective though this, and in certain ways it filters into my art.
