Silvia Bellu

My name is Silvia Bellu aka Lum, I’m an Italian body and visual artist. I was born in Cagliari (Sardinia) in 1984 but I live in Milan since 2005. I work together with visual artists and live music players during interactive theatre performances and artistic installations.
I started to be fascinated by the Body Art world in 2011, when I saw a live performance of drawing on a body at the Think Tank Festival (International Awards & Festival) at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan. Since many years I was interested in a kind of dynamic body research but linked to the movement, to the theatrical gesture. In fact, I worked at the same time as a director an choreographer. Then I focused on the figurative work on the body.
I don't know exactly the reason why I came to this... It probably was the need to "explore" the body and all his ways of expression, of acting, and so the visual and performative aspect.

I think it's the study of the body as art, his mystery under a theatrical point of view. The act of painting a face or a body has the same meaning of telling a story, writing a script and imagine a life. This is the reason why I'm considered a multifarious artisan, devising my characters from an aluminum roll, a handful of straws and some...

I have a degree in Art and Performance Arts, Cultural Heritage Sciences Degree Courseat the University of Milan and I am graduating in Art therapy at the Brera fine arts academy.

My works have been shown at the Think Tank Festival (International Awards & Festival) Mediolanum Forum and at My-Loft Gallery of Milan (IED). Various works have also been published on many specialised magazines such as the Dreamegazine Montreal Based independent electronic Magazine (France), Dark beauty Magazine (USA) Art Reveal Magazine(FINLAND) "The wheel mother" is the first runner-up at Rabarama Skin Art Festival (Milan, 23 June 2016 ) the national competition of Body Art. "Lot trilogy" has been exposed for the Milan Design Week and is selected for the big screen- Basel Art Weeks 2017, and has received the Honorable Mention Award (Artist of the year) CFA Lyon 2017.

Winning artist, with Luca Zurzolo of the competition organized by Mostrami Art (international contemporary art collective), project spaces for talent, at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan with the works Psicosi, Ego, Es and Io, inaugurated the 23rd October the Bipersonal "Anatomica".
