Born in Edinburgh in 1949 I grew up in England. Art education in London, I have since travelled to and lived in many countries around the world. i now live in Japan. Sidd Murray-Clark originally trained to be a production and set designer for theatre and TV, but soon discovered that his vision of design and his creative horizons stretched in many directions. This passion and his personal quest for self-discovery have taken him on a rich and multi-dimensional journey to many parts of the world. The last 28 years have given him the opportunity to explore this point of view in many forms. Directly absorbing the philosophies and aesthetics of the east has led to a rich and personal distillation of many art forms and cultures, which he applies to all his projects whether painting, garden design or interiors. His search for a visual language to express essence and an exploration of human subjectivity lies at the core of his creative process.
