BabushkART's creator: The artist Irit Heimann has been endowed with a talent for perceiving her environment and conveying an experience with a magnificent design capability.

Following a crisis in her personal life, Irit explored her past, has been re-captured by her ancestry, rooted in far-away Russia - and drawn into the wonderful world of the Babushka dolls, known in Russia as matrioshkas.

Irit’s professional world in the field of marketing and branding is cast into the classic dolls and gives the viewer a nostalgic experience, yet with contemporary notes and colour plate.

Irit is a kind of sculptor, who sees in the “chubby kind-hearted mother” on wood the painting that can be extracted from it.
She sears on her figures a renewed style of old-day vintage drawings, expressing hope, dream and romanticism, yet with certain sadness, daring and sophistication.

Under Irit’s confident hands, the dolls turn into warm and true figures, and she takes the viewer back to a long-gone world, one which was naive and simple but full of hope.
