Janey Hunt

Janey is a landscape artist working in charcoal, pastel and watercolour crayons. Her work is inspired by the layered histories of the land-ancient monuments, field systems, old estate maps and archaeological forms. She begins by walking, sketching and photographing the landscape, then allows each piece to evolve in the studio, often moving into abstraction through mark-making and colour. Recent work focuses on the South Hams in Devon, Cranborne Chase in Wiltshire and Dorset, the Quantock and Mendip hills.
