Kathy Symonds is a Midwest-based artist specializing in expressive landscape and floral painting. Working primarily in Golden Artist Acrylics, she is drawn to the medium’s versatility, luminosity, and environmentally conscious qualities. Her work often incorporates both brushwork and palette knife techniques, allowing for a balance of soft, atmospheric passages and rich, textural movement.

Inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings, Kathy’s paintings reflect a deep appreciation for color, light, and seasonal change. Her recent return to the Midwest—where she grew up—has brought renewed inspiration, particularly from the woodland landscape surrounding her home.
