Franco-Canadian painter (1969-) influenced by 19th-century Romanticism, presents abstract landscapes paintings that celebrate emotion, imagination, and the subjective nature of reality.
François Haguier is a contemporary abstract artist captivated by 19th and 20th century romanticism. Originally from France and now based in Quebec, Canada for over 29 years, he creates landscape-inspired abstract paintings that celebrate emotion, imagination, and subjective reality. His work navigates between technological art and traditional visual art, drawing inspiration from modern 20th century abstract painters, romantic classical painters like William Turner and Caspar David Friedrich, Japanese calligraphy, lyrical abstraction, and abstract expressionism. His intuitive painting style is constantly evolving, featuring textured acrylics on wood panels with a preference for Payne’s gray, Alizarin Crimson, and zinc white
