MY WORK:

I like color. Painting is the most direct and flexibility way to make color work according to my intention. A traditional medium like paint also allows inaccuracy to be made spontaneously. Inspiration often comes in a form of correction for me. Therefore, It is important that the potential of imperfection can occur to my work. I also believe art should captures the energy of its creator, and this is what separates art from ordinary objects.

I appreciate balance in all things, especially found in nature and in human nature. In my work, my foremost desire is light because it is essential for colors to appear properly and interestingly to the human eye. But light must also be balanced by darkness in order to be meaningful. My paintings are about seeking equilibrium between the light and the dark; the colorful and the dull; the motion and the still.

I enjoy working from live subject as well as from imagination and references. To achieve a balance between abstraction and representation is always my aim.


BIO:

KC is native to Hong Kong, an industrious city with an increasing restriction on freedom and expression. KC continues to establish connections between art and freedom to the people of Hong Kong.
