Maarit Korhonen

I am a contemporary artist, painter and longtime music maker from Finland, Espoo. I have gradually moved more and more into visual arts and have been working on my paintings continuously for many years. At first I painted quite realistic paintings. From there I moved to a more humorous direction and now I prefer to paint in a more abstract style. My abstract paintings are a mix of shape, line and rhythm. I use layered colors to bring depth and atmosphere to my work. I find inspiration for my work from everyday life, people, music, rhythm, dance, movies etc.
