Nicholas Broughton

I create instinctively, exploring the tension between control and chaos. My work—whether abstract or landscape—is shaped by emotion, texture, and the unpredictable nature of process. Living on the Gold Coast, I’m influenced by shifting light, atmosphere, and memory, translating what I feel rather than what I see.
Each canvas evolves through layering, scraping, and rebuilding, becoming a record of decisions and breakthroughs. I paint daily, believing art should be lived with—provoking reflection, connection, and pause.

I am completely self-taught.
