Sherri Richards

Sherri Richards is an American artist from the state of Ohio. She comes from a large family of painters and graphic artists. Sherri moved to Atlanta, Georgia in her early twenties where she worked and met her husband. They married and moved to Guatemala for five years where he did research work and she immersed herself in the culture and art scene. Their first daughter was born there. Their second daughter was born soon after they returned to The United States of America.

Sherri holds a Bachelor's of Fine Art degree from Georgia State University with a major in drawing, painting, and printmaking. While in college she loved studying the Masters and working on different techniques in painting using texture and color. Her favorite painters were the impressionists and the Romantic painters. She enjoys doing paintings of animals, beach scenes, plein air, birds, and pet portraits. Sherri has had workshops with three well known painters in the Atlanta and Chicago area. In these workshops she studied impressionistic plein air painting, but mostly figurative and portrait painting. She enjoys painting women of different ethnicities...
