My heroes have always been cowboys, but then at some point I realized that many of them were not well versed in matters of world commerce or political action committees. Moreover there was only a small percentage of the cowboy contingent who agreed with my political and social convictions, to say nothing of our gaping disparities when discussing religion. So, long story short, I no longer purport the American cowboy as my hero figurehead. Now my heroes are instead cats. Especially in sinks (see for more). Cats have a strong positive attitude and a firm steadfast conviction to self. Despite your particular tendencies, and often in direct contradiction to them, the cat abides (much like the dude). This single minded devotion to purpose must fill cats with the sense of well-being and confidence they need to remain on their own path regardless of the needs, wants, or aspirations of others around them. No amount of peer pressure or puny human rule could dissuade them from living their lives, enjoying every minute to the fullest, then peeing on the couch and taking another nap. >>>YEAH, cats!
