Artist Statement Jolanda Bakker - van der Ploeg Born in 1981 in Middenmeer and now based in Schagen, the Netherlands, I create vibrant, expressionistic paintings with Lascaux acrylics, drawing inspiration from the stories of my life, dreams, and the world around me. I am a modern artist helping collectors find emotion throught expressionism, nature, and dreams. I create original artworks for interiors—paintings that bring the feeling of spring and summer, full of light, movement, and color. Each piece explores energy, poetry, colorful freedom, and quiet strength. My paintings invite a moment of peace—a space to breathe, reconnect, and heal—supporting wellbeing, happiness, and expressive beauty.
